How To Compose A Proper APA Dissertation Cover Page
Soon you will have to submit your dissertation, and you are working hard to finish everything in time. It’s not enough to just write some pages with text, but you have to be sure that everything is professional and it contains good information. Some of the things that you still have to do are very simple, like the cover page. However, you still need to pay attention to the strict requirements of the APA style. Here is how to compose it:
- Choose a nice title that will not sound too complicated or dull. The title will be in the center of the page, so this is the first thing that the readers will see. Also, there is a big chance that you will write it with bigger letters, so you really have to be proud of it. In general it’s better to have a short and clear title, instead of something long that requires explanation. If you feel that this is not enough, you can write a sentence under the title that will represent the subtitle. This one can be longer, but it can’t be similar to the first one. Arrange both of these elements in the center of the page. You can use a different font for your title, but not all professors agree with this so it’s better to ask him before.
- Write down the name of your professor and your name. Of course, it’s absolutely necessary to write your name since you are the author. You will write it in the middle of the page at the bottom, right under the title. To write the name of your professor is not completely necessary, but it is a sign of appreciation since he probably helped you so much with your dissertation.
- Write the date of submission. You can write the date in the middle, under your name, or you can write it in the right superior corner. The APA style does not have very strict rules regarding this issue so you can ask your teacher what does he prefer.
- Don’t use anything that might be considered inappropriate. Don’t try to use cool fonts or to make the page pink to make you feel more happy. These are not suitable for such an important project and they will make you seem unprofessional in front of your professor.
