| Vienna City Opera House is the first building to be erected in the Ringstrasse. The opening of the State Opera House is done in 1860 however the architects of this Renaissance style building couldnt live long enough to see this opening. The harsch critics saying that the Opera House looks more like a train station drove the architect Eduard van der Nüll to commit suicide. The second architect August von siccardsburg had also died just after van der Nüll. In the second World War the building is damaged severely. |
